Classic mode allows a user to log shots on a timer without loading and playing a video file in the browser (similar to a stopwatch). This mode may be helpful for users viewing a film on a streaming platform, another device, or in a theater.
After opening the extension, select 'Classic Tool'.

Click the 'Play' button when the film begins.
To log a shot change, click the the Shot Change button, or use the space bar on your keyboard.
If you need to pause your film and continue later, you can save your shot progress to your device as a .cmsx file. Once the film is in progress, the Import button will switch to an Export button, which will start the download process.

When you are ready to continue, re-open the extension and click the Import button. This will allow you to select and load your saved .cmsx file; press Play to continue.
When you have finished logging shots, pause the timer and add relevant metadata for your film. To submit the shot data and film metadata to the Cinemetrics database, click Submit. Please note that the tool will close completely upon submission. If you wish to retain the shots on your own device for later use, you must export the .cmsx file prior to submission.
